Cramlington Community Art Group were invited along by Fox Irving to take part in an Alternative Media Workshop organised as part of the Artists’ Book Market BALTIC.
With the General Election coming up this workshop aimed to explore and unpack thoughts and feelings on the issues and what is at stake, sharing ideas on what is next for us, and what we can do together.
News on the day was altered with words, symbols, icons, colours, paint and images that represent or characterise the stories that are important.
This workshop created an interactive thinking environment to discover, play and communicate. It is on displayed at BALTIC Artist’ Book Market on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 May, 10.00-17.00, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead.
Fox Irving is an artist who graduated from Camberwell College of Art. She works with the page and the book to explore language through words and paint. She has exhibited work both nationally and internationally and has been awarded the Bookartbookshop and London Centre for Book Arts awards.
