Monday 4th July 2016 10-12noon
Artists Miranda Petersen leads a workshop in Encaustic Painting.
Encaustic is a technique that involves using bees wax and heat tools to create paintings on surfaces such as wood, paper and card. The term encaustic comes from the Greek word meaning ‘to burn in’. This session will provide a safe and supportive platform for participants to develop their skills and knowledge in encaustic painting techniques in order to create their own artwork.
During the session we will examine and discuss a variety of techniques including;
- Application of hot wax to surfaces using heat tools.
- Colour mixing with wax.
- Creating tone and textures on surfaces.
- Incorporating mixed media and wax.
